Information for those who are interested in learning about falconry
If you are interested in falconry but don't know where to start you might try one of the following links and order some books. There are several good books available for the beginning falconer.
The sport of falconry is an arduous, time consuming and expensive endeavor. In the USA, you cannot purchase one of the hybrid falcons that we sell until you have at least a General Falconry Permit issued by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. This type of permit requires 2 years of apprenticeship under the direct supervision of a licensed falconer. Depending on which state you live in, you will also need a state falconry permit which is usually issued as a joint federal/state permit with the same requirements.
If you live outside of the USA then you will be required to provide a CITES importation permit in order to purchase one of these falcons.
